THE BAR CODE PART 3

PDF417 is more commonly known as a 2D barcode, that is the barcode is encoded both in the horizontal and vertical directions and is an extreemly high density format. Although this type of barcode is not seen very often it is becomming specified more and more for documents that require a lot of information to be encoded. Documents such as drivers licence, Identity cards, and cords with personal information are now using this 2D format.
